As fully as we play blues, as fully we love.
The album of the Zvolen blues band ZVA 12-28 Band - Šibenica frajerka is the fourth one, a purely author album of the leader, original song writer, guitarist and singer Norbert Červenák.
"Zetvéáčka“ , as they call them, with their melodic and rhythmic approach, the overall sound of the band and with the originality of Noro Červenák, they stand out in the typical Central European blues-rock cliche. The songs draw from original blues tradition, but they also use modern and original elements, such as shuffle & boogie, funky, with authentic Slovak lyrics which are rough but they are also about love, loneliness, betrayal, alcohol. These stories are told by various outsiders or comic figures of everyday life. To the question whether in their lyrics the winner is the demon alcohol or love, the band reply in their own way - "Levity and humor.“
On the album, Noro in the lyrics partly reflects his stay in the Czech Republic. Facts and stories experienced in Tábor are uniquely presented into original images, he is easy and with a wit he describes sometimes difficult situations in everyday life. The member of the band and drummer of ZVA 12-28 Band, Peter Krško, claims that it is possible to detect yet another reference to the Czech Republic on the new album. "I think there are songs on the album that are influenced by the philosophy and atmosphere of the Czech underground.“ All these attributes were processed in their own unique way and together with their truthfulness and philosophy, the result is unmistakable.
In 2015, it has been 25 years since the band started and had their first concert; the entire time there has been Laco Červenák as a bass counterpoint to his brother Noro, for ten years, the percussionist Peter Krško has had his back with his rhythms and for five years, the violinist Stanislav Fakan has been intensively stoking the band's fire. The album Šibenica frajerka was recorded in the Indies studio.
Let's enjoy the album in which there is, besides humor that sometimes flashes through these sad lyrics, hope as well, as Peter Krško confirms. "Disappointment in life and in love has always fatal consequences in the soul, but even things like that we should be able to overcome and escape the gallows. :-)“
