Matěj Metoděj Štrunc releases the intimate original song “Drž mě pevně” ("Hold Me Tight")
Following his album LIDOVĚK 2.0, on which Matěj Metoděj Štrunc put his own distinctive spin on traditional folk songs, he returns with a new original track, “Drž mě pevně”. Moving away from folk tradition, the song explores a deeply personal subject. It is an intimate reflection on difficult moments in life that can sometimes overwhelm us. The light is fading, darkness falls over our land...
Matěj Metoděj Štrunc is an actor, musician, traveller and poet. He studied acting at the Brno Conservatory and comes from a musical family. He is the son of dulcimer player Dalibor Štrunc and violinist Kateřina Štruncová, who perform together in the musical ensembles Cimbal Classic and Javory.
While still studying, he joined the children’s theatre Divadlo Radost in Brno. After graduating, he became a member of the acting company at the Municipal Theatre in Zlín, where he worked for three seasons. He is a co-founder and frontman of the folk rock band Ateliér, with whom he has released two recordings and several music videos. As a composer of music for theatre productions, he has collaborated with theatres across the Czech Republic.
