Ulož tmu and Utíkej: Nauzea Orchestra announces a new album with a post punk charge.
Nauzea Orchestra presents the first single from its sixth studio album, Ulož tmu, to be released in February by Indies Scope. The track Utíkej opens the world of the record, where anxiety, wandering, and cynical humor intertwine. It is accompanied by a video that works with the contrast between corporate and industrial aesthetics and natural locations. The single also suggests the overall tone of the album, which explores the loss of certainty and the search for perspective in a tense time. The new recording is tighter, more aggressive, and built on krautrock repetitions, minimalism, and post-punk energy. Ulož tmu is also the most engaged work in the band’s history.

The video for the song Utíkej was created based on a script by frontman Ondřej Švandrlík, who also took on the role of director. Cinematography and editing were handled by Tomáš Branda. The final form carries an environmental accent, emphasized by distinctive filming locations such as Prague’s Holešovice, Divadlo Metro, the Karlín offices of the Knowlimits agency in a former ČKD boiler room, the surroundings of Lake Most, the chemical plant in Záluží near Litvínov, the Klíny ski slope, and the Solvay quarries in the Beroun region. The track features a guest appearance by Tomáš Procházka from the band B4, whose voice adds another layer of urgency and unease to Utíkej.
In the main role of the runner, who is fleeing not only from the outside world but also from himself, the video features its author, Ondřej Švandrlík. Other roles are played by the remaining band members and a dachshund named Josefčík. The ever-present hunter is portrayed by Marek Hes, the band’s graphic designer, who has been shaping the visual identity of all Nauzea Orchestra album covers since the second record. “Sometimes we get stuck in a loop like in a video game that someone else is playing for us. Both the lyrics and the video can be understood as a reflection on how paradoxical it is that, for example, working in a corporate office can become a safe refuge during the day. Yet once we leave, we do not want to go back, and out of fear, we often cannot even sleep thinking about what awaits us the next day. But in the morning we walk into the office, and everything is surprisingly fine again,” describes Ondřej Švandrlík.
On the album Ulož tmu, Nauzea Orchestra returns to a sharper sound and a more forceful drive of the songs. “Perhaps it is also a need to resonate one last time with youthful energy before it finally taps us on the fingers, and it will be time only for lullabies in the style of Bobek. It is probably amusing that ten years ago we were singing country songs like Možná jsme jenom starý and now, on the threshold of old age, we are shouting post punk choruses,” concludes Švandrlík.
The single Utíkej will be released on December 12 by Indies Scope. The album Ulož tmu will follow on February 20, 2026, digitally and on vinyl. Sound, mix, and mastering were handled by Ondřej Ježek.
