Five March concerts will feature guests and a cross section of the work of all four artists
The project Chunta is setting out on its very first tour. Martin Kyšperský, Aleš Pilgr, Marek Doubrava, and Petr Nikl will present a shared repertoire during five March concerts, featuring songs from the album Chunta as well as selected tracks from their other projects. So far, the band has played only a single show, a preview concert on 19 December at Café Husovka in Prague.
The tour begins on 3 March at Kabinet MÚZ in Brno, continues on 4 March in Ostrava, and on 5 March at Čítárna Unijazz in Prague. This will be followed by concerts on 6 March in Příbram and on 8 March in Vodňany.
"It will be a real tour, five concerts during which we also want to film short videos," says the project’s initiator, Martin Kyšperský. In Brno, the album will be christened by writer Anna Beata Háblová, and the Prague concert will feature the band’s friend Ondřej Galuška, who will play trombone with the quartet. The entire tour will also be joined by multi-instrumentalist Ondřej Kyas.
"We will play the whole Chunta album as well as several songs from the album Nikl Kyšperský, some pieces by Petr Nikl, Květy and Hm…," Kyšperský adds.
The album Chunta was created without pre-prepared songs, without hierarchy, and without fixed roles. The role of frontman naturally shifts with each song and moment, resulting in a collective statement from four distinctive songwriting personalities of the Czech music scene. The foundation of the record was formed during a December meeting in Jimramov, where the quartet improvised without demos and without an agreed concept.

Chunta contains twelve tracks that move between intimacy, grotesque elements, and existential anxiety. Musically, it is open and sonically diverse, featuring guitars, keyboards, and drums as well as banjo, bisernica, bouzouki, autoharp, and waterphone. Reviewers have described it as "one of the most natural collective projects of recent years" and have praised its intimacy and creative freedom.
