Singer-songwriter Marie Kieslowski returns with her new single Jsou dny (Some Days), the first preview of her forthcoming second solo album, due for release in autumn 2026 via Indies Scope.
The new track opens another chapter in her intimate songwriting, this time enriched by synthesisers, drums from Roman Vícha, and guitars by the album's producer Martin Přikryl (The Prostitutes, Apollinaire). Part of the new material was written not at the piano, but with a guitar in hand, an instrument Marie decided to learn while composing music for a theatre production. Her upcoming album promises to be her boldest stylistic exploration to date, combining her signature songwriting with elements of trip-hop, downtempo, soul grooves, grunge guitars, and even unexpectedly danceable moments.

"Jsou dny came out of the nervous feeling that eight songs might not be enough for an album and that I should have at least one more in reserve. I was alone with my children at our cottage at the end of August while my husband had just left for a month-long work trip. Over the course of one weekend, both the music and the lyrics came together, capturing everything I had been feeling in the days before he left," says Marie Kieslowski.
Marie also created the accompanying music video herself using personal videos filmed on her mobile phone. It captures small moments we usually keep only for ourselves, moments that stand out from everyday life through their beauty, absurdity, humour or their resemblance to familiar cinematic and advertising clichés.
Fans can support the making of the album through a crowdfunding campaign on Donio, running until 17 July. Alongside pre-ordering the album, supporters can choose from a range of personal and unconventional rewards.
Marie Kieslowski first gained recognition as one half of the duo Kieslowski and later as a member of the band Zvíře jménem Podzim. In 2022 she released her debut solo album Je všechno dobrý?, accompanied by a book of interviews with female musicians exploring the balance between creativity and parenthood. This was followed by the EP Je to složitější in 2024. She also works as a theatre performer with Divadlo LETÍ and the Ufftenživot collective.
Jsou dny is now available on all major streaming platforms.
