Alongside the band’s core trio—Jan Švihálek (guitar, vocals), Mojmír Sabolovič (bass), and Lukáš Kytnar (drums)—the single features a special guest appearance by Kenny Brown, who contributes a guitar part. Brown is one of the key figures of hill country blues, a style that continues to preserve the most authentic roots of American blues music. A long-time collaborator of Mississippi legend R.L. Burnside, who famously referred to him as his “adopted son,” Brown has also worked repeatedly with major names on the rock and blues scenes, including Jon Spencer, The Black Keys, and contemporary soul-blues star Robert Finley.

The album Sticky Ricky, introduced by the single Too Much Trouble Not Enough, was recorded during Band of Heysek’s most recent tour of the United States. In addition to Kenny Brown, the band invited several notable guests to participate, including American guitarist Duwayne Burnside and Sarajevo-based keyboardist Omer Blentić. One of the album’s most remarkable contributors is legendary harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite—widely regarded as one of the greatest harmonica players of all time and the last still-active veteran of the instrument whose illustrious career began in the 1960s.

Band of Heysek

Band of Heysek is a trio of blues enthusiasts from Brno, Czech Republic, performing original, raw, and visceral blues rooted in deep tradition. Since their debut album Shovel & Mattock (2017), the band has built a strong reputation on both the domestic and international scenes. A major turning point came through their collaboration with Mississippi bluesmen R.L. Boyce and Kenny Brown, with whom they recorded two albums in the USA in 2019. Their music has since resonated across Europe, the United States, and Asia, while their live shows are known for their intensity and energy. In 2025, the band returned to Mississippi to record their sixth studio album, Sticky Ricky, set for release in early 2026 on the Indies Scope label.
