The success of  the Motyle album by the duo Tara Fuki from the beginning of this year, when the album appeared on the 2nd place of the prestigious European World Music Charts Europe (WMCE), was also reflected in the annual ranking, where the album took the 10th place overall. Tara Fuki is also expecting a vinyl version of the album, which should be ready for early 2022.

"Tara Fuki were on the WMCE charts throughout the first quarter of this year," said Milan Tesař, who has been at the top of the WMCE charts since 2020, adding: "They were sixth in January, second in February and third in March. Back in April, they were (officially unpublished) 26th place and even in July they appeared among the 50 best rated albums (46th place). It was this long-term interest of the members of the jury, which lasted for more than half a year, that brought the duo of cellists the tenth place in the overall year-round chart." The second best-placed record with Czech participation was the recording of the Harfa nad Oslavou concert from Folk's Holidays in Náměšť nad Oslavou in 2021. The chart for the year 2021 is available here: https://www.wmce.de/Year_2021-342.html

Although the special concert for the 20 years anniversary of Tara Fuki had to be moved to the spring of 2022 (March 2, 2022 at the Archa Theater in Prague - https://fb.me/e/hVKgwCHq), the ladies have had more than a successful year. And not just thanks to a series of concerts. Motyle garnered great reviews and one success after another. The album appeared on the Transglobal World Music Chart (TWMC), and received the best response on the WMCE chart. In the past, several Czech performers scored here, such as Gipsy.cz, Dva, BraAgas, Tomáš Kočko, Čankišou or Korjen. However, when Tara Fuki reached 2nd place in February 2021, it was the greatest success of Czech music in this chart so far.

Andrea Konstankiewicz does not hide her joy: “We really appreciate the 10th place in the WMCE in 2021. The production approach of Dorota Barová and Miroslav Chýška certainly has a lot to do with that.”
