With successful 2007 appearances at Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight festivals under its belt, Gipsy and his hand-picked crew of Czech Roma musicians returned to Prague in 2008 to record this CD. Hip-hop may be Gipsy.cz's primary inspiration, and here Gipsy struts his MC skills well. But it is the fine interweave of Roma accordion, guitar, bass and strings that takes Reprezent to the next level. Joined on several tracks by the Apollion Quartet, Gipsy.cz continues to work its colorful, trans-Roma hip-hop street sound with nu-soul feel, Czech vibrations and consummate showmanship. This may be far removed from the comparatively raw 2004 debut, Ya Favourite CD Rom, but Gipsy.cz is keeping it real with world-class production to carry his timely lyrics in English, Roma and Czech.
