Gipsy.cz - Reprezent

Michael Jackson, Barack Obama, Jiří Paroubek, Canada, Ziguli and other amazing company got together in new video of Gipsy.cz group.  Animated video of the title track Reprezent from the album with same name ensures again that the band loves exaggeration, irony, current topics and is not afraid to make fun of themselves. “Not to take anything seriously and little bit of provocation, that’s what we consider being one of the main qualities of our group and we tried our best to keep it that way here too...“, say Gipsy.cz.  The video made by Pavel Sadílek is based on 2D animation and will show to viewers not only what it means to learn how to rap in Toronto and how it looks when you are illuminated with the ghost of Michael Jackson, but also couple of other eye-opening things.

This year the Gipsy.cz fans had the opportunity to see the band yet in two highly stylized videos ( Gipsy.cz - Do You Wanna  Gipsy.cz - Aven_Romale ), prepared exclusively for Eurovision 09.  After this Moscow rendez-vous this year‘s third video by Gipsy.cz means the return to music represented in the excellent last year’s album called Reprezent.

 

Pavel Sadílek (www.desade.cz) is author of many videos; his services were used by for example Chinaski, Ewa Farna or Anna K. One of his last videos, animated in the same way as Reprezent, is the song Nedávno by Jarret.

OKREJ - Zeptej se osudu (Ask your destiny)

Second video from the CD Okrej – Je to důvod, after the first excellent video by Zdeňek Suchý OKREJ - Voda Tva , there is a visual rendition of the first song in the album.  This time there were very young artists standing behind the camera. Talented Filip Zangi (15) and Jakub Zvoníček (16) who wrote the screenplay and took care of direction and editing chose Kadaň for the video action. The picturesque castle surroundings, the atmosphere soaked square and hangman’s alley, also the Kisza gallery and pub/club Pohoda all create the overall character of the video.  It’s obvious that the authors of the screenplay are leaning on the lyrics of the song and the choice of the way between good and evil represented by earthly sins and the environment in which the heart evoked with anxiety and unawareness.

Čankišou - Borrega

Čankišou are coming with already their third video from CD Lé la (2008, Indies Scope Records). This time it´s animated video called Borrega using puppets and different animation techniques. Video about shepherd and his passion for rugby was made by students and directed by Lenka Zemanová.

First video from CD Lé la Čankišou - Zuha was shot in Pakistan. Second one Čankišou - www.bwindiorphans.org  was made from materials of dancing children from Uganda. And the last one Borrega was made here in the Czech republic by students at Film Academy of Miroslav Ondricek and Independent Film College in Pisek. Director Lenka Zemanová studies animation at Film Academy of Miroslav Ondricek in Písek. Borrega means a lamb in an Andalusian dialect and it´s some kind of a Čankišou pastoral song using cooperation with audience at concerts. Video was made
