Bittová & Fajt

Now, the re-edition of an album which kicked off a stellar musical career of Iva Bittová and became a cult is being released.  At the end of the eighties, the connection of unique alternative rock style of the drummer Pavel Fajt and the dark mysterious violin and expressive vocals of Iva Bittová, turned out to be an amazing idea. To connect two such different instruments such as violin and drums, to get inspired mutually and to improvise, all that was an unprecedented thing to do and the joint recording was a great result and meant a rocket rise in popularity for this duo that time.

Iva Bittová and Pavel Fajt managed to combine their skills into a harmonious whole as they complete each other in an incredible creative way and create range of sounds, melodies, musical layers and moods, and even musical humor that mutually fits into a unified whole, which hasn’t been heard in our country before. The almost theatrical introduction of the album is just a short intro, then Iva Bittová lets break out fully her expressive way of singing and unique violin and we can almost feel the electricity of harmony with almost melodic drumming of Pavel Fajt.  This resulted in a recording that still belongs to the top of the Czech independent music production and has global parameters.

The album was first released at Panton in 1987, the first re-edition was released at Bonton in 1997. The current re-edition of the album is carefully remastered by Jozef Čech at the Slovakian label Pavian Records in 2013. The order of songs is identical to the original release on LP and the record contains two bonuses: the songs Ukolébavka and Plavil Janko koně (EP 1987, Panton).  The CD is packed in paper digipack and includes a sleeve note written by Jiří Černý.
