Tara Fuki - Two women, two voices, two cellos and very intimate music. Their songs for two wooden bodies interlaced by caressing sound of Polish language create a fragile web of tones which, by a wave of a bow, can change into a dangerous trap. The first Czech band ever at the music fair WOMEX 2007 in Spain. The last CD Winna brings the duo back to their roots and gets amazing reviews. Professional award at Czech music crossroads showcase festival 2015.

Festivals: Womex 2007, Spain, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Netherlands, UK, Central America.

BraAgas - Colourful women voices and folk songs from all around Europe. The band is characteristic for their expressive and colorful vocals and vivid rhythmic and also for the use of non traditional instruments, such as cither, bagpipes, shawm, shalimo and different kinds of percussions. The band performs at world music and historical festivals more abroad than at home.

Festivals: Rainforest world music festival on Borneo island in Malaysia, Babelsound in Hungary, EBU Folk Music Festival in Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Portugal, Slovakia.

Kieslowski - Acoustic duo playing urban folk. Fragile author songs, which are so convincingly written by DKP and Marie Kieslowski, have the strength of an undertow. Quietly, without hearing any noise, you are hit and before you know it, there is no turning back. Lush melodic songs, thanks to characteristic vocals, hold the listener tight and offer the whole life – love and death.

Festivals: Waves Vienna in Austria, Eurosonic Noorderslag 2016 in Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Germany.

Ghost of You - Ghost of You are a young band from Brno who are not afraid to wrap their choruses in the col-oured light of electronic psychedelic music and blurry guitars. Ghost of You have always been close to electronic music. Their work reflects the influence of post- and math rock, gradually making a metamorphosis into psychedelic pop. Even if you can hear the impact of Kid A in their music, the band has found its own style.

Festivals: Sziget 2015, Nouvelle Prague 2015.

lesni zver.jpg

Lesní zvěř - An original mix of jazz, drum´n´bass and psychedelia with lyrics in English. Their compositions span from regular songs to purely improvised stuff, when they basically let the music spontaneously drive on in unintended directions, eventually ending up either in heavenly arcs of spiritual joy or in a roaring hell. „We do not perceive nu-jazz as a music necessarily connected with jazz in the historical sense of the word. It is more of a common ground, a starting point full of freedom and spontaneity, that is not limited by any definition of it as genre, and lets us wildly exploit our imagination.“

Festivals: Bansko jazz festival in Bulgaria, Brussel Jazz Marathon in Belgium, Eurojazz in Mexico, Lotos Jazz festival in Poland, Kaunas Jazz festival in Lithuania, Jazziré in Serbia.

holden caulfield.jpg

Holden Caulfield - They are balancing somewhere between guitar indie pop and synthpop. They want to bring fresh pop-music to Czech Republic, which they miss here so much. „We are inspired by bands like M83, Phoenix, The 1975, Foals and simillar to them. We are indeed a pop-music band but at the same time we try to make a different approach than the mainstream bands from Czech Republic,“ describes singer Martyn.

Festivals: Waves Vienna 2015.

Traband - Although the band has changed its style many times during the years from Balkan brassband, over folk songs with harmonium to current rock, you can always recognise the original sound thanks to its leader Jarda Svoboda.

Festivals: Frontiers in France, TFF Rudolstadt in Germany, Sziget in Hungary

Jablkoň - Jablkoň" is traditional Jablkoň that plays compositions from the whole genre spectrum, but mainly from "Baba Aga" and "Machalaj" albums. This version of Jablkoň can be rock, folkrock, alternative or slightly jazzy. The configuration is: Michal, Martin, Johnny and Petr or only with three musicians (without the percussionist). This mutation is sometimes called "Velká polní Jablkoň" ("Big Field Jablkoň"), however this name is not often use.

Jananas - Jananas demonstrate that folk can be as current and up-to-date, unburdened either by “camping pot music” or bittersweet phrases. At the core lie catchy musical ideas and clever lyrics. Jananas immediately captivates its listeners by surprisingly good and thoughtful Czech lyrics abounding with multiple meanings, insight and intelligent humour. The songs respond to current issues as well. The typical band's expression and sound on the album is amplified by the unmistakable voice of the charismatic singer Jana Infeldová.

mirek kemel.jpg

Mirek Kemel & band - is a longtime leading Czech cartoonist and also songwriter. He plays the accordion, guitar and harmonica. Mirek Kemel’s songs are based on quality original lyrics and they are about experienced things that we encounter and with which we have to cope on our way to inner freedom.
